  1. Backed by science and it works. In the last 30 years, research on habit loops, willpower and motivation has really skyrocketed. We've scoured it all and condensed it right here for your learning. From that, we've built a simple and effective system to help you form new habits, break old ones, and design the life you deserve.
  2. Think big. Act small. To start, we'll walk you through an exercise that will help you design your dream life. What does it look like? What does it feel like? But we won't stop there. We're going to dig deep and do the hard part. The part where most people stop -- the how. We'll teach you how to carve your big, bold, audacious vision into actionable, bite-sized chunks. Visualizing your dream life is one thing, but what if you lived it?
  3. Willpower. On autopilot. We know the drill. You want to exercise more. You want to eat out less. You want to read more. Yet for some reason, after a while, it just doesn't stick. But what if it was as simple as brushing your teeth? A simple, subconscious, and effortless habit. Something you do because - well, you just do. Trust us. We read all the science, remember?
  4. Be empowered. Own your decisions: the good ones and the not so good ones. Once you do; once you embrace this responsibility and are accountable to the person that matters most -- yourself-- you'll be able to slowly but surely build towards the dream life you deserve. Scary, huh? The core of all self-growth books teaches us that success starts with taking 100% responsibility for our lives. We'll show you how to unleash your inner strength and remind you that you're an owner after all.
  5. Five minutes. We promise. They say hindsight is 20:20, but what if foresight is too? Tracking and reflecting on your habits will really just take you five minutes per day. Once you do, you'll build the life you envision with intent and purpose. You won't be looking back wondering 'what if'. We've built the tools, broken down the science, and designed exercises to help you, help yourself.

Why We Love it

The Habit Journal guides you to focus on just three habits each month and helps you pick the right habit loops (cue, action, reward) for each one. Because when we get inspired to self-improve, we want to do so many things at the same time. It’s much more valuable to make a fundamental behavior a true habit; something that doesn’t require willpower. And this journal will help you to do just that. Plus, it’s made in Germany (known for top-notch paper goods) and made with linen, a low-impact material that uses less water and pesticides than alternatives.

Meet The Founders

LULU LIANG & ALLIE MASTORAS

A global nomad, former management consultant, and former CEO of Luxy Hair, Girlboss’ very own CEO is also a big believer in the power of habit building. It’s why she co-founded Evergreen Journals, with her friend and former colleague, Allie Mastoras. Liang and Mastoras met while working as consultants at Accenture, and though both were living their “dream” lives (at least, according to social media), inside, the duo was feeling more burnt out and anxious than ever. So they created a journal that helps you live your ideal day, every day and bring more intention to your life. Naturally, Liang uses her own journal daily, “I also read my journal entry from exactly one year ago today, everyday. This has made me super self aware, which is the first step in building mindful habits.”

As for her proudest moments, Liang recalls the process of putting the journal together with Mastoras—which included countless hours of research into the science of habit-forming—plus the rave reviews and heartfelt DMs help keep her going. And although entrepreneurship isn’t without its struggles—”it’s something we don’t talk about enough,” Liang says—it has shown Liang that a different kind of career was possible. “This mindset switch is the most pivotal thing. It all starts with mindset.”
