Meet The Founder
XENIA CHEN
When Xenia Chen was working in corporate finance, she had to wear nylon tights. Every day. That meant having to put up with a dozen little frustrations: sagging waistbands, improper fit—and perhaps worst of all—constant rips and snags. “I felt like most of the stuff out there was old fashioned and uncomfortable, or too expensive.” So she started Threads, a line of durable, well-fitting tights that are made in Italy.
“As soon as we launched, we were getting emails from women saying, ‘this is what I've been looking for my entire life’ and ‘why hasn't anyone done this before!’ So we know we were onto something,” says Chen. Each pair of tights is the result of relentless testing and customer feedback. “For example, the Sheer Contour tights have a contoured control top—this was designed because so many women complained about how the traditional control tops are too suffocating. We also have an inclusive selection of nude shades that actually match your skin tone.” Since launching her hit tights, Chen is looking ahead to other product categories, like nipple covers and base layers—the base layers of a corporate-friendly wardrobe that works with you, not against you.
