Editorial Intern
Girlboss Media is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and whip-smart editorial intern to join its Los Angeles Office. Reporting to the site’s editor, this position will assist with research, writing, community management, some administrative tasks, and more. Above all, this is an opportunity for the right candidate to learn how a fast-growing media startup works, while adding value to a lean organization and seeing the immediate impact of good editorial work.
Some things you’ll be doing:
- Work with Girlboss’ editorial team to manage and respond to user feedback, help manage the GB community across platforms, and stay abreast of trends and ideas the GB community is engaged with and interested in
- Assist in ideation, execution and production of articles
- Assist in article research
- Pitch and potentially write social posts and articles to appear across Girlboss properties
- Assist with some reporting and analysis of content performance, under clear guidance
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
Some things you need to have:
- Strong attention to detail with well-honed organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Keen eye for grammar and spelling
- A habit of reading various media outlets and ongoing awareness of what’s going on in the news
- Ability to multitask and manage own time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Eagerness and willingness to learn many different skills
- Interest in and understanding of the broader media landscape, with passionate ideas about what great content should look like
- Being a student/graduate of a degree in journalism or communications is a plus
This is a paid position for 2.5 days a week in our Silver Lake offices in Los Angeles, starting early August and running through the end of October. Revenue Intern
Girlboss Media is looking for an intern to support the day-to-day operations of the revenue department. This role will be looking for a aspiring media superstar based in LA!
Some things you’ll be doing:
- Helping to support the architecting of strategic integrated programs for Girlboss clients
- Supporting general administrative duties of the revenue and marketing team such as:
- Expense reporting
- Mailings/shipments
- Scheduling
- Helping support marketing and project management with all forms of campaign execution such as: Deck creation, competitive research, client research, campaign tracking and performance measurement, social media creation and support, monitoring and tracking campaigns on behalf of clients, helping to support execution of sold programs and partnerships across internal and external departments and vendors, seamlessly communicating with and directing Account Management to ensure desired campaign performance, helping to organize internal folders and internal library of documents, helping to input contact data and update CRM
What we would like for you to have:
- Good command over Powerpoint, Keynote and Excel
- Bonus for any years of experience in digital advertising and marketing creating custom campaigns
- Excellent organizational and communication skills — both written and verbal
- Strong writing, presentation and deck-creating skills
- Top performance record
- Experience with media planning and general marketing/web analytics is a huge plus
- Working knowledge of Google Drive, Powerpoint, Keynote
- Proficiency with Adobe suite is a plus

Design Intern
Girlboss Media is looking for a creative, entrepreneurial, and whip-smart design intern to join its Los Angeles Office. Reporting to the art director, this position will assist with design, research, some administrative tasks, and more. Above all, this is an opportunity for the right candidate to learn how a fast-growing media startup works — while adding value to a lean organization and seeing the immediate impact of good work.
Some things you’ll be doing:
- Assist in ideation, execution and production of design assets
- Work with Girlboss’ editorial and design team to manage and respond to user feedback, help manage the GB community across platforms, and stay abreast of trends and ideas the GB community is engaged with and interested in
- Assist in photo research
- Work closely with our Social Media producer to assist in asset creation and maintenance of social channels
- Assist Art Director on set for Girlboss photo shoots
- Assist with some reporting and analysis of content performance, under clear guidance
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
Some things you need to have:
Proficiency in Excel, Photoshop Illustrator, and InDesign. Video and photography skills a plus
Strong attention to detail with well-honed organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and manage own time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Eagerness and willingness to learn many different skills
Interest in and understanding of the broader media landscape, with passionate ideas about what great content should look like
