The Best LinkedIn Jobs For A Fresh Start In 2018

We’re pretty over the haters telling us to suspend the job search until next year. Check out these awesome LinkedIn jobs, if you are too.

Recently, LinkedIn sent out a rather aggressive email with the subject “This is the wrong time to look for a job.” The email linked to an article that said the holiday job hunt should be nontraditional at best. We’re not so sure.

First of all, the best time of year to apply for a new job is when you’re ready to apply to a new job. It’s that simple! So if there’s something inside you right now that’s pulling you towards a fresh start, you’re in luck.

LinkedIn (regardless of what their emails say) is brimming with fantastic job opportunities right now. Here are our top ten totally amazing, out-of-the-box job opportunities for you to consider for early 2018.

Principle Gifts Coordinator, Environmental Defense Fund

If you have a heart and you’re paying attention right now, you’re worried about the environment. Luckily, regardless of our political reality, places like the Environmental Defense Fund continue to exist (and resist).

They’re also looking for a new Principle Gifts Coordinator, an associate-level position for someone looking for growth opportunity in nonprofit development. This is a particularly exciting role for a nonprofit career because the posting highlights not only the upward mobility of this job, but also the growth happening on their development team.

Creative Director, Influenster

If you’re an experienced digital designer who understands how to build the visual identity of a brand, this could be a really great new year’s fit for you.

Influenster is an online community of socially savvy shoppers who review and test products, and the benefits of working there seem pretty great. The job posting mentions frequent lunches and happy hours and a fully-stocked fridge and cold brew along with the (unfortunately impressive) health, dental, and vision insurance.

Journalism Associates Program, HuffPo

How often do you find a kickass job opportunity that literally requires you to have less than a year’s experience? If you’re an entry-level job seeker, you know it’s next to never.

You’re in luck, though, if you’re an entry level journalist. This amazing two-year program with HuffPo is for recent grads and recent grads only. If you are comfortable with multimedia projects, champion audience-first strategies, and are innovative and forward-thinking, this program might be perfect for you.

Command and Control Software Development Engineer – Entry Level, Boeing

As 2017 comes to a close, the software development jobs keep rolling in. Like the HuffPo job, this posting seeks a dedicated entry-level staff member. Unlike HuffPo (and most of these other postings), this one is all about scientific thinking.

Boeing needs someone to help the software development for “development of spacecraft system software packages, including command and control systems, and mission products.” To be honest, we’re not totally sure what that means, but if youdo, then it sounds like you might just be the next Mary Jackson.

Food Editorial Assistant/Editor (Vegan Food), One Green Planet

We have a weakness when it comes to food-related jobs. And this one is pretty darn cool. One Green Planet is on a mission to change the way people think about food and reinvent what it means to be ‘green,’ and they’re looking for one junior-mid level and another mid-senior level role writing and editing Food Monster content.

If have two to five years writing and editing experience, and you love vegan food and are eco-savvy, check out this fresh start for 2018. PS: This company has a Chief Happiness Officer. His name is Goji, and he’s a dog.

Senior Architectural Designer, Publix Super Markets

Their subs are famous and they’re tied for best grocery store in America. Oh, and they’re looking for someone (maybe you) their new stores. The requirements are flexible and don’t require a four-year degree, which is definitely not a necessary path to career success.

So whether you’ve got a high school diploma/GED with two years drafting instruction and six or more years of work related experience in the design field, a two-year associate degree in design related discipline or technical/trade school, and four or more years of work related experience in the design field, or a Bachelor’s and two years of design experience—you might be the next brilliant mind behind a Publix store.

Account Executive, Lumi Agency

Calling all Connecticut gals, we’ve got a pretty ideal 2018 job for you. Lumi Agency, an up-and-coming creative digital marketing agency, is looking to add an account executive to their office. If you have three to five years of marketing experience (and a big plus for agency experience), you could be a good fit for this closely-knit team. Plus, this job has Easy Apply!

Director of Real Estate, Nekter Juice Bar

Nekter Juice Bar, famous for its cold-pressed juices and acai bowls (power lunches of the LA type), needs a Director of Real Estate.

In this role, you would travel throughout the United States to identify real estate opportunities for corporate and franchise business partners. You’ll be the person who dictates new store locations, extends leases, and relocates existing stores. Since when have real estate jobs been this sweet?

Principle Researcher (Meal Experience), Blue Apron

Blue Apron actually posted a bunch of jobs recently, but this one looked too good to pass up. The meal experience researcher at Blue Apron will do everything from research design to product management, helping the company on its quest to center its offering around customer needs.

This NYC-based position is ideal for someone with five to eight years experience in quantitative analysis, and who can think on their feet. When it comes to researching the best possible meals experience, that doesn’t sound too difficult.

Associate Producer, Podcast, Vox Media

Girlboss knows a good podcast. But have you ever thought of going behind the scenes? Vox Media is hiring a full-time podcast producer who will be involved in every phase of production.

And as the Vox programming slate expands, the Associate Producer will be a key member of the audio team, supporting the launch and growth of new shows.

That’s a pretty sweet gig for 2018. Extra perks? They have a healthcare policy that is LGBTQ-inclusive. Obviously, that should be true everywhere, but it’s still pretty cool that they make a point of highlighting it.

(Oh, and Girlboss is hiring too. Hurry!)
