Ever heard people say “money is an energy?” They’re talking about the power of attraction; the idea that our mindset can help us create more abundance. Ahead, speaker, writer and Radical Self-Love: A Guide To Loving Yourself And Living Your Dreams author Gala Darling shares her tips for manifesting more moolah in your life, whether you’re magically inclined, or just curious about what a witch’s relationship with money looks like. Wonder no more, here’s Darling’s take.
How thrilled would you be if I told you that the fastest way to make money was to massively increase the amount of joy, excitement, and adventure in your life? Baby, it’s true.
One of the most fantastic things I’ve learned in my time on this planet is that having fun, being in the moment, having great sex, and experiencing lots of laughter attracts more abundance than “hard work” does. When I take time to enjoy my time in the universe, money flows to me more easily. This is truly one of the best pieces of news I’ve discovered in a long time: the most effective way to manifest the life of your dreams is to make feeling good your top priority.
Put that on your to do list and smoke it!
We’ve been raised in a society that tells us that we have to take everything so seriously; that if we want to live a “good life” we have to work our fingers to the bone; that we should work ceaselessly until we’re ancient and then reap the rewards.
I am here to call bullshit on that entire story. Because while you can work yourself to death, it’s not the only option.
Having fun is one of my favorite ways to increase the levels of abundance in my life, but there are many, many other ways to manifest money. Here are a few to get you started:
Feng shui your wallet
You carry your wallet with you all day long, and it’s a fantastic barometer for how you feel about your financial situation. First of all, do you even have one? (Some people just hold their cards and cash together with a bulldog clip.) Do you lose your wallet all the time? Is your wallet ripped, tattered or torn? Is it loaded with old receipts (which signify debt?)
It’s time for a refresh! A wallet in a bright color—especially gold or green—will help attract more abundance. Clean out all those old receipts and loyalty cards. If you can swing it, keep three $100 bills in there at all times that you don’t touch: it will help you feel more secure.
Step ya sex up
Your sex life and your bank balance are intricately linked. Now, this doesn’t mean that the babe getting laid most often is also making the most money. I would argue that this is about quality over quantity. When you’re having great sex—whether alone or with yourself—the money just flows.
I’m also going to suggest that we stop having sex that doesn’t light us up, and we give some deep consideration to who we’re sharing our energy with. Let me ask you this: if you’re having sex out of obligation, what are you tolerating in the rest of your life?
Don’t be a hard rock when you really are a gem, baby girl
I love crystals for drawing in more abundance. My house is absolutely loaded with citrine, the most badass wealth stone there is, and ametrine, which is a combination of citrine and amethyst.
Charge your crystals in the light of the full moon, and then keep them in your work area or on an altar. You can write little affirmations, fold them up, and tuck them underneath your crystals if you want some extra zing!
Don’t kill your dreams
Sometimes we shoot down our dreams by claiming they’re “too expensive,” when we actually don’t know how much they would cost to bring to fruition. The other day I was talking with a client who wanted to travel more, but had already decided she couldn’t afford to do it. When I asked her if she’d priced it up, she said no.
This is Dream Killing 101! Often, we’re completely wrong about how much something will cost. Do the research, and you will be amazed. I also firmly believe that where there’s a will, there’s a way. If you want to travel, create price alerts on flights and hotels, and set the intention that you will go.
Your hands are wands
You use your hands to create things, offer services, help others, and receive compensation for doing it. So why not treat your hands with the love and respect they deserve? Get regular manicures so that you feel proud of how your nails look.
A lush coat of green or gold nail polish is one of my top secret tricks for manifesting in a cinch! Add a drop of sweet orange oil to your hand cream to draw in more cash. And wear an amber ring to help you hold onto your cash once you’ve attracted it.
Ask and it is given
One of the quickest ways to get what you want is to use your mouth. We will never get the things we refuse to ask for. This applies to your entire life, not just money! Learn to speak up about where you want to eat dinner, which projects you want to take on, and how you like your pussy eaten. It can feel uncomfortable to express yourself honestly at first, but the more you practice, the better you’ll get and the better you’ll feel.
With time, you’ll start to really enjoy it. (Dare I say, you might even get high on it.) Begin to become aware of the language you use around money, too. Stop saying things like, “I can’t afford that!” In fact, strike “I can’t” from your vocabulary entirely.
Stop equating your bank balance with your self-worth
One of the ways we stop the flow of abundance is by thinking that the money in our bank account is a reflection of the value we put into the world. This is one of the most destructive beliefs we can hold.
Remind yourself that you are a glorious, transcendent being, no matter how much you have in the bank. You’ll be amazed by how much more easily the money flows when you change your beliefs around it.
